In order to promote a new dual-degree computing science program offered by Simon Fraser University and Zheijang University, I created an award winning video to showcase students' experience of living abroad, learning a new language and culture, and graduating with two degrees. This video won the NAFSA (Association of International Educators) International Education Video Contest because it highlighted universities and programs that prepare students for success in a future where global competence will be a requirement. The judging panel watched more than 30 videos and selected the top five videos for voting on the NAFSA website. After two weeks of voting, Simon Fraser and (British Columbia, Canada) and Zheijang (Hangzhou, China) universities' video about their dual-degree program was chosen as the favourite. The two schools were recognized at the Annual Business Meeting during the NAFSA 2014 Annual Conference a>in San Diego, California. The video helps students explore pathways to global competence.
IRIX hosts an annual holiday card contest, where employees pitch ideas for holiday cards. The winning e-cards and print cards are then sent out to 50 (number) clients and stakeholders. For five consecutive years, I have won this contest and was in charge of designing, creating the artowkr, preparing outputting files, and coding the e-cards in flash action scripts. These e-cards showcased our agency's multi-channel niche and were designed with interaction in mind. Most notably, I have designed cards that were in the form of a flash-programmed mini game, as well as an interactive campaign which generated Instagram images from e-card recipients. Aside from this, IRIX is also responsible for creating e-cards for clients, including Cathay Bank, Gravitas, and Bank of the Orient.
For our client, Pearl Fever, I was asked to create an animation for their store menu display, encouraging customers to connect with them via their Facebook page to increase their online presence. I created another video to showcase Pearl Fever's key value proposition -- the customizability of their drinks. For both projects, I took on full creative control and was in charge of storyboarding, illustration, animation, and final outputting.
Polygon, a local industry leader in the real estate, commissioned us to create TV commercials marketed towards the large and affluent Asian community. Through working with them, we have collaborated time and time again to showcase their new developments, including: Academy, Carrera, Celadon, Chancellor, Mayfair Place, MODA, and Sitka. In all these projects, along with the creative director (maybe don't put this?), I led a team of fifteen to twenty people and was in charge of storyboarding, shooting board, wardrobe, editing, sound & music, and animation for the following for these TV commercials. These were broadcasted in the Asian TV network (FairChild & OMNI). I collaborated with prominent Hong Kong celebrities, such as Ivana Wang and Eliza Sam. These commercials proved to be a success. Local awareness of Polygon's real estate properties were high; for example, all units of Academy were sold after one week of its launch, and MODA had a very successful grand opening sale.
